Swamp Cabbage Festival
LaBelle's tribute to the heart of the sabal palm, Florida's state tree, served fried, stewed and raw.
About the Swamp Cabbage Festival
Swamp cabbage, the tender heart of the sabal palm, was a staple for Florida pioneers. LaBelle’s Swamp Cabbage Festival has honored that tradition since the 1960s with a parade, rodeo and plenty of swamp cabbage dishes.
It’s an authentic slice of rural Florida culture along the Caloosahatchee River.
